City Driving School - Our Story
City Driving School was created from passion, dedication and a dream. We are proudly a small family business making a difference in our community and making dreams into reality. Our mission is to educate, empower, and make a difference in our community through education ofdriving. We help our students in achieving their Driver License, we are there step-by-step in guiding and providing excellent service to all our amazing clients. We opened our doors in October 2015 and have proudly served more than 5,000 students. We are always striving to improve and grow as a company with our mission to service everyone with impeccable service.
Edward Melgar, Driving Instructor
Hello everyone I'm Edward Julian Melgar. Some of the passions that I enjoy on my spare time are playing soccer, hiking, and taking walks on the beach. I've been teaching for the past 10 years, so many stories to be told. As a business owner, I've learned that customer service is key in being successful. Currently, I'm attending CSUDH and majoring in English. One of my other passions is reading, I love to read fiction, biographies, and leadership books. I'll leave you with one of my favorites authors quote, "Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another." John C. Maxwell.
Ruth Moran, Driver Ed Instructor
My name is Ruth Moran. I'm one of the funniest people you will ever meet. I love to play volleyball, taste wines of all kinds, and I enjoy traveling. Recently, I traveled to Paris, France and loved it. One of my greatest talents is being able to connect with people. I love to talk and learn about other stories and getting to know their passions. I'm here to help get that Driver License.
Esperanza Melgar, Driving Instructor
Hi, my name is Esperanza Melgar. My journey as an instructor has been since 1989 when I arrived from El Salvador. I always followed my passion for teaching and helping others, I started working independently and loved the job. My passions are helping others, educating people , and building lasting relationships. Some hobbies include walking my dog Boxer, spending time with family and of course making amazing food. My knowledge is immense and I'm always here to help all of you.
Millie, Office Assistant
Hello my name is Millie, I am currently a senior in high school. During my free time I enjoy going out with my friends or spending quality time with my family. I do love to dance and also play with my dog as well as taking him out on walks. A few passions of mine are baking along with working, being able to help others and doing nails. In the future I aspire to open up my own nail business and be able to run a successful business. Working at a young age is an advantage since over time you learn to work with people and gain experience, you also learn to step out of your comfort zone and learn how to interact better with people. You learn about time management, cooperation skills, along with people skills and much more. Working at City Driving School has helped me loosen up more and feel more confident with my work and people ethics.

Hello, my name is Erika! I am a very positive and optimist person. I am a mom of a four-legged fur baby. I love dark chocolate, tea, good food, and a good laugh. I am happy and grateful to be part of the wonderful team at City Driving School. Yet, the best part of the job is meeting and greeting new faces everyday. So hop on and let's cruise around while listening to the radio. You may just learn a driving skill or two along the way!
